Over three days PRUST are creating a bizarre PETTING ZOO in Staldgade of Copenhagen’s Meatpacking district. We, FALABELLA, APPALOOSA, and COB, will be present as quasi-wild horses in a foreign atmosphere.
As a performance piece PETTING ZOO is a reservation for three tame horses going through the motions of their daily activities. Witness horses both running, jumping, eating, sleeping, and maybe even talking! Come and partake in validating young artists by feeding us an apple or a carrot. So bring the kids and leave your standards for animal welfare at the door!
Our work questions what it means to be artistically free and whether that is even possible. Is the goal of art to explore ideas wildly and without hindrance? Or is the goal to make oneself as attractive as possible for those with money to spend? Is it even possible not to? Is it realistic to call yourself a free horse when you still exist in an enclosed space, a spectacle for those with the carrots? Come domesticate yourself!
