Fragment is an independent bookshop and platform for photography in book form. We present curated exhibitions with art and documentary photography.

In the duo exhibition Silent Glitch, Miriam H. Nielsen and Louise Bøgelund Saugmann show works created specifically for the space of Fragment. Both artists work with photography, nature and the landscape. Through working with layers of landscape and fragments of nature (a rock, a tree stump, pieces of moss), they create new abstract or meditative spaces.

Miriam H. Nielsen has created a series of montages for the large window facing the metro construction site at Mozarts Plads. She presents works that combine screen prints and digital prints on layers of paper and transparent plastic. Here she has worked with abstract landscapes. Using her personal photographic archive as a starting point, she breaks down and distorts motifs through analogue and digital interventions. The materiality is emphasized, and a sense of rhythm and movement arises through the different layers.

Louise Bøgelund Saugmann shows works from a project based on Pinseskoven at Kalvebod Fælled. For several years she has returned to the same spot in the forest, photographing the same scenery. The trees are photographed using analogue film, and the works are then built up of layers by using a method related to the photography medium, a method she invented herself. This creates a space where you can experience time and the rhythm of the trees and the forest. A handmade artist’s book that is part of the project is also displayed.

The exhibition is curated by Ditte Berg.
