In his practice over the years, Martin R. Olsen has focused on a broad range of aspects of life: social life, family life, after life and lately even pre-historic life – but always one area at the time. For the first time, by introducing works from all different periods, we aim to encircle the outer contours of an artistic practice, which has placed Martin in a unique position in the Danish art scene, and which truly deserves attention.

However, the miniscule exhibition space at LOKALE can in no way accommodate the extensive work of Martin. The exhibition will therefore, in addition to the 30 original works included, also introduce a comprehensive selection of archive- and documentation material.

Furthermore, during the Art Week, we’ll arrange a bus trip to Martins gigantic and quite spectacular workshop in Næstved, where many of his larger works are placed.

The exhibition is curated by Anders Benmouyal, Julie Bjørchmar Kølle and Cai-Ulrich von Platen, all members of LOKALE.
