For the exhibition Unfold Laura Guiseppi will present a new series of sculptural works that deal with the human body. Together with texts and podcasts created by the Danish femcare brand DUSK the exhibition unfolds and explores myths and images of the human pelvis. Guiseppi’s sculptural works are both alluring and mysterious. At first glance abstract, but after a while you sense small hints of the human pelvis: labia minora and minora, clitoris and ovaries all in pastels or wrapped in latex placed on metal stands. They are delicious – almost edible.
Unfold is a celebration of the vulva and the cyclus. It’s a rewriting of traditional representations of the vulva historically linked with taboo and shame. As part of the exhibition DUSK has created a textual artifact and podcast discussing the cultural history of the vulva and the representation of the female body. DUSK was founded by Sine Cecilie Laub & Christina Høgh Selmer Kirk with the purpose to take female health to the next level.
