Since 25 years, the Danish visual artist Martin Richard Olsen has had a mega-size studio, located in the former paper factory Maglemølle in Næstved, at about an hour drive south of Copenhagen. With several thousand square meters at hand, it has been possible for Martin to dedicate large work-zones for each of the different parts of his practice: DYI bronze-casting, ceramic, test-space for chimes, an entire workshop for painting and production of objects and a large layer for his works. This studio and all of its traces of 40 years of artistic research has grown into a sort of work in its own right, and is essential for a retrospective gaze on the 40 years of practice of this artist.
For this reason, LOKALE invites up to 50 visitors to join a busied, to visit Martins studio. Friday the 1st of October at 15.00, the bus departs from LOKALE´s galleryspace at Griffenfeldtsgade 27, Copenhagen Northwest. After visiting the studio, there will be a concert with two well established jazz musicians Thomas Agergaard and P.O. Jørgensen in collaboration with the soundartist Ekkoflok, who also will be playing on the chimes produced by Martin Richard Olsen.
Before heading back to Copenhagen there will in addition be time to visit the gallery NU, and the exhibition of Nanna Katharina Jensen.
The bus is expected to be back again at LOKALE in Copenhagen, at 20.00.
